Left-handed batter Bhanuka Rajapaksa has opted out from the Afghanistan ODIs, requesting for a break after Sri Lanka Cricket (SL) introduced a 16-player squad on Thursday. Based on reviews, SLC have accepted his request.
Rajapaksa stated he had determined to sit down out of the upcoming collection to “recuperate and refresh each bodily and mentally”.
“Determined to withdraw from the ODI squad in hope to recuperate and refresh each bodily and mentally. Have been enjoying with a couple of niggles which have begun to hamper me recently. Added to that, repeatedly being months away from house has positively been a pressure mentally,” tweeted Rajapaksa.
“Thanks @OfficialSLC for being supportive and understanding of this determination. All the most effective to the remainder of the staff and our captain @dasunshanaka1, I’m positive you’ll make us all proud.”
