According to Stow Police Chief Jeffrey Film, Williams became agitated when Keleman pulled in front of him in the drive-thru line. Frustration escalated as Williams honked his horn and eventually struck the rear of Keleman’s vehicle. In response, Keleman asked a Taco Bell employee to call the police. Moments later, Williams, armed with a gun, exited his car and shot Keleman before turning the weapon on himself. Both individuals were pronounced dead at the scene, with Keleman suffering gunshot wounds to her neck and Williams fatal gunshot wounds to his head.
