ISLAMABAD: A delegation from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) met with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman to seek renewed cooperation.
The two parties are reportedly considering ending their differences and exploring possibilities for collaboration, insiders revealed.
During the meeting, discussions focused on forming committees to facilitate joint efforts. PTI is said to have requested cooperation within Parliament, expressing confidence that together, they could challenge the government effectively.
JUI-F representatives, however, indicated that any decisions would be made after thorough internal consultations. Both PTI and JUI-F spokespersons confirmed to the media that dialogue is ongoing and that committees are being formed to manage parliamentary affairs.
PTI spokesperson Raoof Hasan noted that discussions also included cooperation on significant legislation within Parliament, with both parties agreeing to continue talks aimed at parliamentary collaboration.
JUI-F spokesperson Aslam Ghauri echoed these points, confirming the establishment of committees to support further meetings and cooperation. He emphasized that consultation would remain a key process, particularly on legislative issues, with these committees playing a central role in overseeing parliamentary matters.
He remarked that this meeting represents an important step towards potential cooperation between the two parties as they navigate the complex political landscape of Pakistan’s Parliament.
