Chris Taylor resigns as CEO of MNRK Music Group; Sean Stevenson to lead company

MNRK Music Group has announced that Chris Taylor, its President and CEO, has resigned from the company effective June 28, 2024.

MNRK said in a statement on Monday (June 3) that Taylor will take the company’s artist management division with him.

Sean Stevenson, the Chief Operating Officer of MNRK Music Group, will assume the leadership role at MNRK upon Taylor’s exit.

Stevenson, based in New York City, will lead the company as of July 1, 2024.

The exec was appointed Chief Operating Officer in July 2022. Stevenson joined the company in 2018 as Executive Vice President and General Manager.

Stevenson joined MNRK from FleishmanHillard, where he oversaw their Digital & Social Media practice since 2015 as SVP, then Partner.

Over his 23-year career as a marketing and PR executive, Stevenson has led strategy, concept development, digital and social media campaigns for brands such as EMI, Universal, MTV, Warner Bros., Coca Cola, Nike and Samsung.

MNRK Music Group was previously known as eOne Music.

The name change in September 2021 to MNRK (pronounced Monarch) followed Hasbro’s sale of its eOne music division to entities controlled by Blackstone for USD $385 million earlier in early 2021.

In February, Snoop Dogg acquired Death Row Records from MNRK Music Group.

Taylor joined the company in 2016 to run the music division of eOne.

As part of the eOne executive team, he contributed to the company’s overall strategy and eventual sale to Hasbro for $4 billion in 2020. In 2021, Hasbro sold the music division to Blackstone and changed the name to MNRK Music Group.

MNRK Music Group says its catalog across all its divisions consists of 54,000 music tracks, including multiple Grammy winners and platinum-selling hits.

“We wish Chris the best in his future endeavors. He’s been a great leader and partner over the years, and I look forward to continuing the growth of MNRK with the whole team.”
