Weather update Karachi, Sindh; Met Office forecasts rain in city today

KARACHI – Karachi and parts of Sindh are expected to experience rain and strong winds on Monday evening and night.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), moist currents from the Arabian Sea are moving into the upper regions of Pakistan and are expected to intensify by Tuesday. Additionally, a shallow westerly wave is predicted to arrive in the upper parts of the country on Tuesday.

Rain-wind or thunderstorms are expected in Karachi, Mithi, Badin, Umer Kot, Tharparker, Sajawal, Thatta, Mirpurkhas, and Sanghar on Monday evening or night. Other areas in the province are likely to experience hot and humid weather.

Karachi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 36-38°C on Tuesday and 35-37°C on Wednesday.

Hyderabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 42-44°C on Tuesday and 40-42°C on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, hot and humid weather prevailed in most districts of the province during the last 24 hours. However, Badin received 01 mm rain.

Jacobabad remained the hottest place in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 46°C. Maximum temperature in Dadu was recorded at 45°C.

In Karachi, the highest temperature reached 39°C, and the relative humidity in the evening was noted at 70 percent.

In Hyderabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 40°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 82 per cent.
