TORONTO — Five things to watch for in the Canadian business world in the coming week:
MTY Food Group earnings
MTY Food Group Inc. will report its second-quarter results on Thursday before markets open. The company behind many mall food court favourites saw inclement weather and “sluggish” consumer spending weigh on its profits in its first quarter.
Aritzia earnings

Fashion retailer Aritzia Inc. will report its first-quarter results Thursday after the close of markets. The company’s net income fell 58 per cent in its most recent financial year, which the retailer’s chief executive said was spent laying the groundwork for the business’s rebound.
Cogeco results
Cogeco Inc. and Cogeco Communications Inc. will release their third-quarter results after the close of trading on Thursday. The companies have scheduled a conference call with financial analysts and investors for Friday morning.
Home sales
The Canadian Real Estate Association its expected to release June home sales figures and an updated forecast on Friday. The results come after the Bank of Canada cut its key interest rate in June by a quarter of a percentage point to 4.75 per cent.
Reisman appearance
Shopify Inc. president Harley Finkelstein and DavidsTea co-founder David Segal will host a taping of their Big Shot podcast with Indigo Books & Music Inc. chief executive Heather Reisman at Startupfest in Montreal on Friday. The interview is expected to be Reisman’s first public appearance since a pair of holding companies linked to her husband acquired Indigo and took it private.
