Transporters announce country-wide protest against Motorway Police
KARACHI: The All Pakistan Transport Association has declared a country-wide protest against what it terms as unjust actions by the Motorway Police on Tuesday.
Association chairman Sheikh Amir Randeem stated that the protest will focus on issues such as heavy fines and unjust cases filed against transporters.
The peaceful protest is set to take place tomorrow at 10 am in Thokar Niaz Baig, where transporters will gather to express their concerns.
Sheikh Amir criticized what he described as illegal and excessive fines, as well as FIRs issued by the Motorway Police. He also highlighted the unfairness of the rule that prohibits vehicles from being on the highway after 10 pm.
The chairman declared that the protest would continue until justice is achieved and the transporters’ grievances are addressed.
