Five terrorists killed, three soldiers martyred in Bajaur district
RAWALPINDI: Five terrorists were killed and four others injured when a group of Kharjis (terrorists) tried to infiltrate into Pakistan from Afghan border in Bajaur district. However, three security personnel were also martyred during an intensive exchange of fire with the Kharjis, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Monday.
Last night, a group of Kharjis was seen infiltrating Bajaur district, the ISPR said, adding that the security forces effectively foiled the Kharjis’ infiltration attempt.
It said that the security forces took an effective action, killing five Kharjis and injuring three others, adding that three troops were also martyred during an exchange of fire.
The martyred soldiers included Naik Inayat Khan, Lance Naik Umar Hayat and soldier Waqar Khan, the ISPR said.
It added that Pakistan has continuously asked Afghan government to make effective border management and stop the terrorists from intruding into Pakistan. It is expected that the Afghan Interim Government will take necessary steps in this regard, the ISPR said.
